SUMMARY:Vincent Ho\, Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra
DESCRIPTION: Karl Hirzer\, conductor\nDame Evelyn Glennie\, percussion\n\n\nFrom Darkness to Light – Vincent Ho*\nSymphony No 5 in D Minor\, Op 47 – Dimitri Shostakovich\n\n\nA landmark night for the SSO as we’re joined by Maestro Karl Hirzer and superstar percussion Dame Evelyn Glennie. \nMulti-Grammy award winner\, Glennie is one of the most sensational artists we’ve ever shared the stage with – the centrepiece of a night of mystical story telling when she performs Vincent Ho’s From Darkness to Light. \nKarl continues the theme bringing light to the darkness with Shostakovich’s towering 5th Symphony. An orchestral journey towards the light\, the work stands as a testament to Shostakovich’s defiance in the face of political oppression. \n*Denotes Canadian composer.
