Piotr Grella-Możejko has been very busy throughout the closing months of 2024 and in early 2025.  On 3 October 2024, GRAleksandra II (Lo specchio della notte) for oboe and computer soundtrack was given its world premiere by the leading Polish virtuosa, Aleksandra Panasik.  The performance took place in Gdańsk, Poland, as part of the prestigious experimental music series “New Music in the Old Town Hall”, curated by the distinguished composer, Dariusz Mazurowski.  Later, the piece received multiple performance during dr Panasik’s tour in Alberta: on 16 October 2024 at the Augustana College, then on 22 October at the University of Lethbridge, and finally, on 25 October at The King’s University.  On 26 October, also at The King’s University, Aleksandra, dr Charles Stolte (tenor sax) and Piotr (electronics) gave world premiere of another piece, Darg IV (Katharina Gruber) for 1-4 optional instruments and computer soundtrack.

On 12 October 2024, another great Polish musician, flautist Alicja Molitorys, gave world premiere of ELEKTRAlicja for flute and computer soundtrack. Dr Molitorys appeared at the Flute New Music Consortium Festival in University of Nebraska at Omaha.  On 7 December 2024, Alicja gave its European premiere at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, Poland.

At the same time, Piotr has worked on several CD releases (all of them for his label PGMaudio), recording, editing, mixing, mastering, and including the remarkable collection of piano music by Canadian women composers, “Vertical Landscapes”, recorded by the outstanding Edmonton artis, Zuzana Šimurdová, and featuring works by Maria Thompson Corley, Christine Donkin, Kristin Flores, Joan Hansen, Alice Ping Yee Ho, Terri Hron, Melissa Hui, Alexina Louie, Linda Catlin Smith, Ana Sokolović, and Karen Sunabacka.  The CD is slated for official launch on 16 February 2025.  Several other CDs are in the works, to mention “ChaconnEncore”, a collection of Piotr’s saxophone music recorded by Laurent Estoppey, the amazing Swiss-American master of the instrument, as well as “Charmed Live” on which live recordings of Piotr’s chamber music will appear.
